HALLMARKS OF LITERATURE

In our first activity, we each chose a literary piece that spoke to us - whether a poem, a short story, or a novel, and evaluated it using the seven hallmarks of literature. At first, it felt like just another exercise, but as we shared our ratings, we began to see how each hallmark reflected values, emotions, and truths that we personally resonated with. Our brief discussion turned into something deeper, as we realized that the works we chose weren't just entertainment, but reflections of who we are and what we believe in. The activity made us appreciate that literature is a living thing - it speaks differently to each person, yet it brings people together. We left that task with a greater sense of how powerful stories can be when they touch the heart.
